How to Find Your Saved Videos on TikTok (and Stop Losing the Restaurants in Them)

Where saved TikTok videos live on iPhone, how to use collections and search, what happens when a video is deleted, and how to turn food videos into map pins.

In short

Your saved TikTok videos are under the bookmark icon tab on your Profile. Collections help you sort them, but search only matches captions, and a saved video disappears if the creator deletes it. Because TikTok has no map, the practical fix for restaurant videos is to turn each one into a pin in a map app as you save it.

I save a lot of food videos on TikTok, and for a long time I could never find them again. The video I needed was always somewhere in a bookmarked list of hundreds, with no label, no location and no way to tell which one was the ramen place. This guide covers where TikTok keeps your saved videos on iPhone, how to organize and search them, and what to do about the real problem: a saved video is not a saved place.

TikTok changes its layout fairly often, so where I am not sure of an exact label below, I describe the icon instead.

Where your saved videos live on TikTok (iPhone)

  1. Open TikTok and tap Profile in the bottom bar.
  2. Under your name, you will see a row of tabs, each with a small icon. Look for the bookmark icon, a flag-like ribbon shape. That tab holds the videos you saved.
  3. Tap it. You will see a grid of everything you have bookmarked, usually newest first.
  4. Tap any thumbnail to open the video again.

Two things worth knowing. First, the bookmark tab is separate from the heart (liked) tab. A like and a save are different actions, so a video you only liked will not show up under bookmarks. Second, if you do not see a bookmark tab, tap the Profile tab again and swipe along the row of icons; on some versions the row scrolls sideways.

How to save a video in the first place

On any video, tap the bookmark icon in the column of buttons on the right side of the screen. It fills in once the video is saved. Tap it again to remove it. That single tap is the fastest way to save a restaurant video, which is exactly why the list grows so quickly.

Use collections to sort what you saved

A flat list of bookmarks does not scale. TikTok lets you group saves into collections, which work like folders.

  1. Open the bookmark tab on your profile.
  2. Look for the option to create a new collection. It is usually a plus or folder-style button near the top of the saved grid.
  3. Name it, for example "Lisbon food" or "Date night".
  4. To move an existing video into a collection, open it and use the "Add to collection" prompt that appears right after you tap the bookmark (on most versions a tap-and-hold on the bookmark icon opens the same chooser).

If you want to keep a collection to yourself, check its privacy setting. Collections can be set to private, and your saved videos are private by default.

My own rule: one collection per city, never per cuisine. When I am planning a trip I think in cities, not in "tacos".

Search inside your saved videos

TikTok has a search bar in the Saved area on recent versions, but what it matches is limited. It looks at things like the video caption and the creator name, not at the restaurant that appears on screen.

  1. Open the bookmark tab.
  2. Tap the magnifying glass if one is shown at the top of the saved grid.
  3. Type a word you remember from the caption, such as a dish, a neighborhood or the creator's handle.

This works only if the creator wrote the place name in the caption. Many do not. If the name lives only in the audio or in on-screen text, saved-video search will not find it.

What happens when a saved video is deleted

This is the part that catches people out. A saved video is a pointer to the creator's post, not a copy on your phone. If the creator deletes the video, makes the account private, or TikTok removes it, the video can disappear from your saved list or show as unavailable. You cannot get it back from your own account.

That means a bookmark is a fragile place to store a restaurant. If the only record of a place is a video you saved eight months ago, you are betting that the creator never deletes it.

Why saved videos get lost

After saving hundreds of food videos, here is why I think it goes wrong:

  • There is no map. TikTok shows you a grid of thumbnails. It does not show you where anything is, so you cannot ask "what did I save near me?"
  • There is often no location. A creator can attach a location tag, but plenty of videos have none. The place name may only be spoken or shown briefly on screen.
  • Thumbnails all look alike. Ten videos of a plate of pasta are indistinguishable at grid size.
  • Saving feels like finishing. The tap gives you a small sense that the job is done, but you have only postponed it.
  • Videos can vanish. As above, nothing guarantees the video will still be there when you travel.

A quick manual workaround

If you do not want another app, you can do the work by hand each time you save a food video:

  1. Open the video and find the restaurant name in the caption, on-screen text or the location tag.
  2. Search for it in your maps app of choice.
  3. Save the place to a list there.
  4. Add the TikTok link to the place's notes so you remember why you saved it.

It works, and it is also exactly the chore most people stop doing after about a week. That is the gap I built GeoTok to close.

How GeoTok turns a saved food video into a map pin

I am the founder of GeoTok, so weigh this section accordingly. Here is what it does and how you use it:

  1. In TikTok, open the food video and tap Share.
  2. Pick GeoTok from the share sheet. If you do not see it, scroll the row of apps and tap More to add it once.
  3. GeoTok reads the caption, the text on screen and the audio, then tries to identify the restaurant.
  4. It checks its guess against place databases and shows you the match.
  5. You confirm it, and the place is saved as a pin on your map, with the original video linked to it.

The result is that "that ramen place from a video" becomes a named pin you can see on a map when you are standing in the right neighborhood. It does not always get it right. Videos that show several places, or ones where the restaurant is never named, may need you to pick the right match yourself.

Quick checklist

  • Saved videos live under the bookmark tab on your Profile, not the heart tab.
  • Use collections, one per city, so the list stays usable.
  • Search only finds words in the caption and creator name.
  • A saved video can disappear if the creator removes it.
  • Turn the place into a pin as soon as you save the video, while you still remember why.

FAQ

Where do I find my saved videos on TikTok?

Open your Profile, then tap the bookmark icon tab under your name. Saved videos are separate from liked videos, which sit under the heart icon.

Why did a video disappear from my saved list?

The creator may have deleted it, made their account private, or TikTok may have removed it. A save is a link to the original post, so if the post goes, the save usually goes with it.

Can I turn a saved TikTok restaurant video into a map pin?

Yes. In GeoTok you share the video from TikTok to the app, it identifies the place, and after you confirm the match it saves a pin to your map with the video attached.
