Edinburgh put 144 saved place records into GeoTok this week, spread over 45 separate venues that carry 122,005 TripAdvisor reviews between them at an average of 4.4. The find I keep going back to is Le Petit Beefbar Edinburgh, because @edinburghfoodcourt did not hedge on it: "This is hands down the best steak I've had in Edinburgh" (the clip). That is a large claim in a city with a steakhouse on every second corner, and the room has only 441 reviews behind it so far.
Two more numbers set up the rest of July 2026. Of those 144 saves, 58 already have their own video page on this site, and 141 came from one account. Almost nothing this week was a brand-new restaurant. It was reopenings, refurbs, terraces and new menus.

Three patterns I noticed
One account is carrying Edinburgh. Of 144 saves, 141 came from @edinburghfoodcourt, two from @theferryfoodie and one from @eatingwithtod. Only Cold Town House was saved by more than one creator. A city this size should be feeding four or five accounts into a week like this, and it is not — which is why the @theferryfoodie overlap on Cold Town House stands out as the strongest single endorsement of the week.
It was a reopening week, not an opening week. Cold Town House came back from a full refurb, The Salisbury Arms was filmed "newly refurbished", Taisteal launched a midweek early dinner menu, Hard Rock Cafe landed its new Fresh Beats menu, and Duck and Waffle's terrace "has just opened for the year". Late July in Edinburgh is when rooms reset before the festival crowd arrives, and the clips track that exactly.
Cheap and specific beat expensive and vague. The three offers people filmed were £5 spicy margaritas, a £15 starter-main-side, and a set menu number. British, European and Scottish tags cover 56, 44 and 43 of this week's records respectively, but the saves that repeated were the ones with a price or a set number attached.
What I am watching next week
Two things. First, whether Le Petit Beefbar's 441-review base moves, because a "best steak in Edinburgh" claim from a 141-save account usually pulls a hundred reviews behind it within a month. Second, the terrace lane: Cold Town House's rooftop and Duck and Waffle's terrace both reopened inside the same fortnight, and Edinburgh's outdoor season is short enough that everything else with a roof deck should follow before the festival. If a second creator starts appearing in these saves, that is the number I will lead with.

Whatever got saved in the week, ranked by how many clips pointed at it and how deep the rating base is. I keep the low scores in — Fat Hippo Edinburgh at 3.7 across 93 reviews is on this page because the £15 offer is real, not because the room scores well.
Why are some venues missing a rating?
Because they are new enough that no rating has been matched yet. Detroit Slab Shop and Flame to Fork are both in that state. An unrated venue with two saves in a week is the earliest signal we have, and I would rather publish it with the gap visible than leave it out.
